Amour et Lumiere

April 9, 2024 8 Comments

By Cheryl King

Fingers intertwined, we pack the suitcase, his hands guiding mine. He takes my fingers, slides them to the zipper. I find his face, press my cheek to his, the stubble against my skin like braille.

“Are you nervous?” I ask. I can hear much in his silence.

“No. Just in awe of you.”

I blush, and his arms wrap me in warmth like a coat.

“You’re perfect,” he says.

“I’m broken.”

He holds my hand to his heart.

“Do you feel me?” he whispers. “Together we’re whole. I’ll be your eyes.”

Arm in arm, we fly toward the City of Lights.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.
