Its tiny fingers poked out of the towel it was wrapped in, inside a cardboard box. Its face was covered in dots of dry blood. He was a new resident of the world. And the eyes were yet to be opened. Someone left this young creature outside the main entrance of an eighteen-floor block of flats. With no note. Who was he meant for? I picked the box up and lo and behold on the inner side, written with black eyeliner: ‘Dear Good Samaritan, please make sure that my baby is safe.’ It was signed: ‘The lady hanging above you.’

This is a powerful story and it makes any reader want to know what happens next. Will things get better or will this experience come back to haunt them? What if the finder is not a Good Samaritan at all? Good story.
