Brother Jeremiah’s Liar-Liar Elixir

February 17, 2025 18 Comments

By Lisa H. Owens

Footage on social media had Jane tapping ‘Buy It Now.’ Within the hour, the doorbell rang. She was accosted by mayhem and sirens as she lifted the jar from the front stoop, its amber glass glimmering as if touched by God. If this didn’t inspire the bastard to change…

Edgar staggered in an hour late, lipstick on his collar.

“Here’s your drink, hon.” Jane smiled, the elixir in his dirty martini undetectable.

“Client meeting.” He sipped, his cuffs smoldering.

“Business trip this weekend.” He guzzled, sparks flickering.

“Love, ya, babe.” His pants burst into flames.

“You sure about that?” she asked.
