The watch repair will take some time, so you wander the mall and buy a coffee. You, the ugliest man for miles, browse trendy stores bustling with fashionable teenagers. You glare jealously at models and mannequins until your hand burns lobster red because you forgot a cup sleeve.
Then you sit with the coffee placed at your feet, people watching. Gradually, the beauty of the crowds cools your temper. You smile, and it makes your face nearly tolerable. You sip now cold coffee and resume window-shopping, looking at pretty things you’d never dare wear yourself. At least your watch is nice.
