Sheila and Steve sat drinking cocoa late one evening.
Sheila sipped, and thought about the poison she’d slipped into Steve’s cup. She was sick and wouldn’t live much longer, but at least she’d be freed from her horrible marriage. His death would be ruled a suicide, thanks to a fake note she’d made.
Steve sipped, and thought about how he’d poisoned Sheila’s cocoa. He’d soon be free of his demanding, sick wife! Her death would be called a suicide, because of a fake note he’d prepared.
Their bodies were found the next day. Detective Kenny investigated, and concluded: “It’s double suicide.”
Nice twist!
Oh, those two! Great minds alike? 😉
Nice!
Great story. The ironic twist made me think of the old Alfred Hitchcock Presents show.
Guess they didn’t have no-fault divorce where they lived! Jerry
I enjoyed the realistic murderous motives. Nice double-dose-of-poison twist on Shelia & Steve. What about a follow-up story? [e.g., Sheila & Steve wake-up handcuffed together in some afterlife.]
Neat ???
