Mother Nature and Father Time studied one another across the candlelit two-top. Dozens of such tables filled the room, the air abuzz with lively chatter.
“Have we met, ummm…” Time squinted at the ‘My Name Is:’ tag attached by stag beetles to her leafy muumuu, “…Gaia?”
Gaia giggled at his name-tag stuck askew in his snowy beard. “Mr. Chronos, you seem familiar!” she shouted over the din of the multitude of clocks adorning his robe.
Appalled, the host diverted his eyes, intent on the stopwatch with one finger poised above the bell. Nothing worse than old fogies tryna spice things up.
Dear Lisa,
I’ve had occasion to experience speed dating in my 78 years and this rendition is hilarious!!!
Yep! We’re just tryna make a connection somehow. Don’t like it? Don’t look!
LOL! I’m no spring chicken myself, separated for just over six years, but the thought of speed dating is terrifying to me. Thank you for reading and commenting, Gilda, you brave soul!
So clever and well written! Love it Lisa!
Thank you, Pat! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Loved it, too. Fun read,
Thank you, Ed! I appreciate that.
