The cakes that Katie Carter baked shared little secrets.
“Your Gerry sneaks smokes behind the outhouse,” said her madeleines. And later, Gerry did come clean.
“Your neighbour’s not in finance!” cried her cupcakes. And in the street, for all to hear, Katie later enquired, “You on the late today at Tesco’s, Tina?”
When Katie experimented with gluten-free and added spices, she was shocked to hear her fresh eclairs so gleefully declare, “We know your little secret too!”
So Katie straightway binned them and turned to pies instead. And now she hums along to their Jay-Z songs, pretending that butter wouldn’t melt.
