The time had come. She knew it. He knew it. They could wait no longer.
The tension in the air hung heavy like a dark menacing cloud.
Being older, he needed help so she picked him up. As she carried him, there was quiet. She was torn over what had to be done. The needed items were waiting in the room.
As she set him down he squirmed, but there was nowhere for him to go. He stared with one last plea in his eyes hoping for sympathy.
She stared back and in a calming voice said, โSorry, buddy. Bath time.โ
Loved it. It reminded me of my dog and bath time.
