Haven and Flexxel loved to turn onto their side to cuddle, but one arm always got numb, causing Flexxel to turn away.
“If you loved me, you would have that pesky arm amputated,” said Haven.
Off went the arm, and the cuddling became perfect. Haven loved to fondle Flexxel’s stump, proof of true love.
A short time later, Haven shuddered.
“What’s the matter?” asked Flexxel.
“Did you think I wouldn’t notice? You’re re-growing that arm.”
Flexxel sighed. “I missed it.”
“This isn’t true love,” whispered Haven.
Anger erupted in Haven’s abdomen and thorax, and Haven’s multiple arms wrapped around Flexxel’s throat.
Haha! Yes, cuddling is so difficult due to “numb arm” syndrome!
Wonderful! Is this about bug love?
A beautiful portrayal of loving a narcissist! Eloquent, elegant, and concise!
Wow! I didn’t anticipate that turn of events in this piece. It sure kept my interest and stayed on my mind afterwards….just what a good story does. It has so many life applications.
Beautifully tragic depiction of the brutality “True Love” brings when we loose ourselves. Reminder to carefully decide what we are willing to sacrifice and what we expect from a romantic partner. They very thing we sacrifice in ourselves may be used by the other to kill.
I am not quite sure how l react to that short story, bro. Happy l wasn’t their cuddle-friend!!!!
