Yank your clothes out of the laundromat dryer, swallowing tears. Why is life so hard?
Stuff the staticky fabric into your basket. Reach for your last sock, and see a glow in the back. Watch it swirl larger. Touch it timidly, and see old memories dance to vivid life.
You’ve found a time fissure. Here in this empty place, a portal to the older, better days.
Make your decision, swift and wild: crawl into the dryer, into the portal, into the past.
Moments later, years wiser, reappear in the empty laundromat. Fold your clothes, pondering it all.
Was it worth it?
Now that was a complete flash. And a good one, too. I rarely comment, but this one will stick with me and I will use it for inspiration. Thank you.
Excellent.
