He inserted his debit card into the slot and pulled it out. It was merely to activate the pump. He had heard they had started installing the new slot-free pumps at gas stations. You had to just drive up and fill up. Gas stations had become like mobile recharging stations.
Ever since the new President had allowed Alaskan drilling, the country was flush with oil. They were literally giving it away. Climate change activists had gone nuts. The oil monarchies of the Middle East had gone bankrupt. Coincidentally, ISIS members had gone underground.
To him, the world seemed a better place.
Nice thought, although I can’t see Mobil/Exxon giving anything away for free. That said, a well put together story
And with the government taking the oil companies into receivership, the last of the nuclear power plants were converted to run on 87 octane 🙂
