Its powdery body crashes into the window. I stiffen. Frenzied wings the size of my palm request entry. I am wary of its bulging eyes, its frantic nature.
Pity engulfs me, devouring my fear. I know what Want feels like, too.
The moth flaps harder still. I stare up at the light bulb, at the hazy glow it emits around my bedroom. Does it want to be within the warmth, too?
I search the internet, curious about the moth’s lust.
A disorienting orbit.
The thumping stops. The window pane is empty now.
A slice of the moon dominates the night sky.
