A Last Cry

A Last Cry

By Marius Dinu

Their third bite was in my back, pushing me flat to the ground. Face in the dirt, I see her behind the tree line, her blonde curls stuck to her wet cheeks as she calls for me, but I can’t move. I scream for help, but no one’s there. I know it’s too late for me. The wounds don’t hurt anymore but they drain my strength. What hurts is sorrow, for I’ve failed my motherly duty. Can’t go and hold my angel. Right before another wolf bites my lip, I cry out, “Just run, baby; run!” I’ll hold them for you.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.
