The sun blazed down on the desolate landscape.
Amy reckoned she had walked five miles, so fifteen to go. The rocky terrain bit into the tender soles of her bare feet with every step. Her hands felt on fire as the leather strip lashing them behind her back cut into her wrists.
“Both Indian tortures,” Chloe had said before dumping her in the desert and speeding off in the truck. “Binding their captives with wet leather that shrinks as it dries and taking their shoes. Sweet revenge for tying me to that tree while we played cowgirls and Indians as children.”
It’s a wonderful write. I hope to see a clearer piece next time, actually, that’s because non-writers may read this too.
And I must add that the length and the quality of the short shows how good you, really, it’s hard to do both together
Nice little revenge story. Very well written
