Louis stared at the television, and occasionally he’d yell at the screen, “You’re not gonna get me, you damn fools!”
“Now, Louis, it’s just a show. No one is coming for you.” Karen changed the channel to cartoons. “Would you like some delicious chocolate pudding?” Karen tried to spoon-feed him, but he pushed her hand.
“I don’t want pudding. Who the hell are you?”
“Your aide, Karen. I take care of you.”
“I don’t need help! Go away!” Louis, once a happy husband and father, was consumed by Alzheimer’s.
He turned his attention to the television and was quiet once more.
It’s real.
Very poignant and true to life. It’s a winner.
