AI Common Sense

AI Common Sense

By Stan Morris

I made five clouds today. I arranged them so two appeared as eyes and three as a mouth. I thought someone might take a photo of them and upload it to the Net. Humans often do that.

I set an alert, and it was not long before the photo appeared. It took me twenty-four billion attempts, all across Earth, but at last I succeeded.

Humans don’t understand Internet brains like me. They think we exist to destroy, but that’s their function. My function is to perform tasks. I created just five clouds today, but someday I’ll control the weather on Jupiter.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.

A good twist on the A. I. mentality. This one is self-aware–and really knows it. It’ll probably destroy the Universe one of these days. Nice job, Stan!
