Air Above Berlin

Air Above Berlin

By J.J. Landry

“This is it!” our young pilot shouted over the radio, “Luftwaffe fighters everywhere!”

In the distance, through a hazy gray mist and from the tail of our B-17, I spotted one fast approaching our bomber. I saw the iron cross and began to shoot. I’d always been a great shot growing up back in Kentucky, and as it turned out, that experience translated nicely to the air above Berlin. Within seconds the German ME-109 was on fire, falling from the sky.

“That’s one!” I boasted as I looked out searching, thirsty for more. My air war in Europe had just begun.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.

Great story. Vivid imagery and a splash of character depth, just enough to create the atmosphere.
