All Mine

All Mine

By Mary

Twenty-three phone calls.

No answer.

I know the answer.

You were with her.

That girl from work. The one you can’t stand.

That girl you are in love with.

I followed you yesterday. You went to OUR favorite restaurant. You were

looking at her like a lovesick puppy.

I knock on the door.

I want the truth. Or a lie that sounds like the truth. She opens.

I tell her I am his girlfriend.

She tells me she is his sister.

He forgot his cell phone at the restaurant and he went to pick it up.

He will be back shortly.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.

I enjoyed reading this. It is a situation we can all recognise – even Han Solo 🙂
