Am I Addicted?

September 27, 2018 6 Comments

Am I Addicted?

By Elle Kennedy

I sipped my whiskey at the bar. It’d been a hard day; at least that’s what I told myself in an attempt to feel less guilt.

The craving washed over me. I knew no matter how hard I tried, I would give in tonight. It was then that he approached me.

He should leave, but they never do. Intoxicated we depart: I drive.

Safely in the car, I thrust the needle into his neck. He’d be out cold any second.

They say it’s hard to take a life, but I can’t seem to stop. He’ll be number six. Am I addicted?

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.

Keep in mind that 23 pairs of normal chromosomes made Jack The Ripper, and Mother Teresa; why?

Wow what a surprise to find out she’s a serial killer, not an alcoholic or someone about to “give in” to sexual desire.
