On his front marble walls bearing portraits, there is the six-armed Shiva, a human sporting an elephant head, the lion of Babylon.
Horatio sips wine from a long-stemmed silver cup.
A voice declares, “The route through the straits of Malacca to the Imperial Han empire belongs to the Sviringians who are for religious reasons unfriendly to us. A Roman army would be helpful.”
A pause.
The sarong-clad figure declares, “Have no fear regarding the witchcraft trials in Rome; Emperor Valentina is dead, executed by the new emperor.”
An owl hoots.
The Roman senator extends his hand muttering, “Seems the Gods agree.”
Hey, I loved the way you worked in the hooting of the owl and the senator’s observation of same.
When I do these things I keep in mind that in ancient times people lived in a spiritual world along side the temporal one
