“You shouldn’t be here” echoed throughout Ben and Maggie’s life. It was the first thing five-year-old Maggie said to Ben, the only boy in their ballet class. It was what Madame yelled when she found them splitting Maggie’s gummy fruit apology in the closet.
Years later Maggie whispered it as she pulled Ben into her old playhouse and into their first kiss.
It was spoken on the night before Maggie’s wedding.
And it was certainly the first thing Maggie said when Ben burst through the gates of Hell.
He’d follow her anywhere. Smoke nearly choked his response: “And yet I am.”
Jack Nicholson should play the part of Ben.
Wow! Are you an economy major???
Ben choking on Hell’s smoke when he responded? Yes, a strong image. I enjoyed the read.
Fun and games. Excellent.
Loved it! Great imagery, it definitely left me wanting more.
Yeah, I second the vote for Nichols for Ben. Anyone else (as an actor) even come close? Liked this one!
Quite taut Thanks.
As long as we don’t have to watch Nicholson do ballet
Wonderful! By the way, I really want to know what ‘Ben burst through the gates of Hell’. How do you guys interpret this?
