You don’t see many families at this end of the beach, much less a small pilgrimage of SUVs and minivans.
Nor do you see many at the shore in their Sunday best, even on Easter weekend.
But, it started to make sense later as they all congregated along the seashore. Several had arms outstretched toward the sea, consecrating the event. A man wearing white, wading waist deep in the water, dipped the girl in his arms into the surf.
My revelation: I was witness to a full immersion, ocean-side baptism.
I wonder if they noticed they had chosen a nudist beach.
I wish the revelation hadn’t been in italics, it would’ve had more impact. But great images and funny contrast between the beachgoers and the baptism!

Too funny, the kids got baptized and educated at the same time.
