“Come on,” Brittany whispered as she spun around in her desk and leaned toward Seth. “Everybody knows Mrs. Gibson never really reads those stupid book reports.”
Seth only half-heard these words. Instead, the class valedictorian’s mind was darting between the cleavage peeking out of Brittany’s low-cut blouse and the sandal dangling playfully from her toes.
“Please?” she asked, her pretty mouth curling into a smile.
“Okay,” answered Seth. “I’ll send it tonight.”
Although he risked losing his college scholarships if they got caught, Seth was maneuvering for a prom date.
“Thanks!” she said. “Don’t forget to put my name on it.”
Manipulations! Of course her name is Brittany (or Tiffany). He will get nowhere with her. Nice work.
Your characters stay well in character, making them seem real. We’ve all known people like Brittany–and Seth. Good story.
