Pellegrine, sensing my nervousness, pulled at the lead. I hoped the judge, holding her rosette ready to bestow upon the winner, had not noticed.
A dog barked in the surrounding crowd, punctuating the expectant silence. The judge turned towards David, sweat darkening his hideous maroon suit. His lucky one, he bragged, as it netted him and Favoleous first place last year.
He smirked, hand rising to accept the award. Favoleous whined, squatted, and unleashed a torrent of diarrhea. It spattered David’s brogues. The audience gasped. The judge recoiled, handing me the rosette.
Thank goodness cascara sagrada bark also worked on dogs.
Funny twist. Well done.
You place the reader on the scene so well, and what a scene it is! The arrogant David’s humiliation was satisfying on its own, but then the final reveal-another twist. Great word choices! I enjoyed the humor.
