Bide One’s Time

August 30, 2020 1 Comment

By Britt Gajardo

A world that is surrounded by concrete walls wasn’t new for me for I have stayed in a place like this before. The difference is that I enjoy the tranquility here, living in a white capsule hotel. Since my neighbors weren’t engaged in socialization, I used to wait for my visitors annually. I just misunderstand the thought that they came here for me, but they’ll just gather around, take pictures, and play in my place. How ironic, right? There ain’t no choice. I love them. I’ll rest here in peace until their visit in November. I need your prayers. See you.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.

I am grateful to all the United States Veterans who have fought to protect my right to protest what I perceive as injustice and inequality, even as that act simultaneously ensures those that do not agree with me can exercise that right, as well.
Hope you don’t mind that I am commenting on the substance, not the mechanics Britt.
