On my wife’s birthday, we attended a farm auction. Farm auctions lack published orders of sale; things just appear on the auction block. My wife and I split up. When a chainsaw appeared, I bought it for $25. Later, my wife came up behind me with an evil smile on her face.
“I saw what you did!” she accused in jest.
I held out the saw and said, “Happy birthday, honey.”
A guy standing next to me stifled a laugh into a snort and ran, expecting my wife to explode.
We both laughed. We’d been looking for a chainsaw for months.
You ‘split up’. . . Lol.
there were multiple auctioneers working at the same time. We covered different kinds of merchandise
Great story and not nearly as dark as I expected.
glad you liked it.
Neat change of direction!
Nice and humorous ?
HA! Something similar happened when my DH gave me a reciprocating saw for my birthday… his friends were all “YOU DID WHAT?”, but he said “It’s what she asked for!” ROFLOL…
