Black Hole Starlight

April 23, 2026 4 Comments

By A.W.

I gotta hang on, Matt thought while clinging to the edge of the asteroid.

Gravity from the black hole below pulled at his body. He heaved, reaching for the bright stars above. The pressure intensified, weighing his body down like a ton of bricks. His shoulders buckled and his fingers slipped.

He fell, spiraling into the darkness. The stars’ lights dimmed to a speck.

I’m done for.

Suddenly, starlight trickled down to his face.

His eyes lit up. Hope was not lost yet.

The black hole of anxiety wasn’t the end.

He stood up to face it head on once again.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.
