The referee called Lefty Louie and Skullcrusher Rocco to the center of the ring for his boxing instructions. “Okay, no low blows. Break when I tell you to.”
Skullcrusher was a fearsome specimen with a huge head, bull neck, and biceps to match.
“Wrestling won’t be tolerated. Go to your corner when I tell you to.”
Skullcrusher had a 15–0 record, all knockouts. Louie’s record was, well, on the losing side.
“And may the better man win.”
Better? Confused, Skullcrusher glowered at the referee.
“Or, if not the better, then you, Louie. Go to your corners, and come out fighting.”
Funny. Made me smile, which to me, is worth a lot these days.
Better man!
If I were the referee I wouldn’t mess with someone called ‘Skullcrusher’… great story!
