Bright

By Peter J.

He stared at the computer. The screen was at full brightness, the white light hugging his eyes with its glue-like power. Simple machine. Simple humans. He wasn’t thinking of anything, just reading with a blank expression as the words were lost in their journey, never making it past the white screen.

If a bomb dropped on the desk, and it exploded, with wood and metal pieces strewn across the vicinity, it wouldn’t affect his fascination with the glow.

Humans aren’t getting any smarter. We’re devolving, returning to the moth-like creatures we once were.

Ding! Oops, one second. I got an email.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.

A perfect comment on how we’ve become addicted to all the modern electronic marvels. Maybe so, but I can’t envision a world without my computer!
