While the child’s mother was distracted, he saw the tall, thin stranger scoop up the small boy and keep walking.
Davy forgot his plans to go to the movies and followed. If they drove away, he might lose them, but he could memorize the car’s license plate. Otherwise, he’d follow the stranger home.
The kidnapper ducked around a corner before the mother’s screams began behind them. The lack of crying suggested the kid was either drugged or being entertained with some candy or a toy.
Davy wondered if the man pretending to be his father had stolen him the same way.
Great twist at the end.
Thanx! A little dark this time!
Sorry? What does that mean?
