Anita unfurled her body like a silk ribbon as she plummeted to the ground. After the bungee jump, she thought it funny how a terminal cancer diagnosis forces you to confront your mortality. She had quit her job, sold her house, and stuck pins all over a world map.
Anita relished watermelon-coloured sunsets in Tahiti, trekking the misty Inca Trail, and a heart-pumping ascent of Kilimanjaro.
But it was not until her doctor profusely apologized for the misdiagnosis that her blood pressure really exploded.
She hoped to return the favour when she sent him an itemized bill of her bucket list.
