I decided to show my recently acquired rabbit’s foot to my new girlfriend, Jill.
Her reaction was not unexpected. She managed to croak, “Yuck, get that disgusting, stupid thing away from me before I puke.”
I hid it in my back pocket. “It’s the left rear foot of a rabbit. I was told it would bring exceptionally good luck to its owner, and now, that owner would be me.”
Jill said, “Well, it didn’t bring the poor rabbit much luck, did it? Do you suppose the rabbit was killed?”
“I sure hope so, because otherwise, it’s just hopping around in circles.”
LOL I remember getting “rabbit’s feet” when I was a kid (I doubt there was anything rabbit about them at all). What a hilarious take on the whole rabbit’s foot idea.
Hilarious! A comic ending I sure didn’t see coming. Definitely a nice change from the weird or macabre. (I’m laughing imagining Monty Python’s demon rabbit.)
More a joke than a story, but welcomed nevertheless.
