Startled Trice swallows rather than spits the bug.
“Augh! Swallowed a butterfly,” chokes the lad.
“It’s ok, kiddo. Butterfly won’t hurt you, just food,” says his father of gentle custom.
“It’s a bug,” cries the lad.
“It’s mostly protein, like hamburger,” patiently explains the father.
The child jams his finger into his uvula, exciting a retch.
“It’ll be fine,” comforts the father.
“Allow the kid his complaint,” says the mother.
“You didn’t swallow no bug,” shouts the child.
“Man up,” distractedly instructs the irritated father.
“Let the kid alone,” says the mother.
“Damn butterfly,” allows the son.
“Crimp it,” commands father.
