Her smile was enchantingly smug.
I stood behind her, watching as fine features reflected through the nearby window.
Little ivory fangs sat straight, their owner aware of the fallout below.
She lay on her belly, her sapphire eyes as wide as possible.
They focused on the world outside, its decaying grass dotted with garbage and fresh blood.
Black slits darted back and forth, seeming to penetrate everything within reach.
That sly grin remained on her muzzle, echoed alongside the shifting forms of officers and their opponent.
I smiled alongside her, just as glad to be rid of our neighborhood’s rampant criminal.
