Alex’s friends were delighted with the new man he became after surviving the lightning strike.
Once shy, he was now more fun, more interesting—outgoing, a newly minted extrovert. A one in six million chance of surviving would do that to you.
But for some reason, he still stayed with quiet, demure little Cassie, his girlfriend. She kept a close eye on Alex, stopped him from going off the rail, said no more often than yes—the fun police.
Why remain with her, they wondered, when he was now sparked with energy?
