The Christmas Party, what an occasion; everyone turned up early that day. Champagne, orange juice, smoked salmon, pigs in blankets.
09:00 Review of the year, plenty of back slapping and applause. The Champagne began to work its magic. Tongues waggle. Heckling from all corners of the room.
11:30 Crocodile line heads to the Kings Arms. Private dining room, bread rolls start flying. Ties loosen. Wine, Red or White? Best take one of each, all goes down the same way.
12:00 Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. Sprouts hit the ceiling fan.
13:00 Back to the factory. Keg of beer to empty.
A stoic reminder of the wrong reasons why we celebrate Christmas.
Perfect choice of structure.
This is so true. I have attended work’s Christmas parties like this except we didn’t go back to the office in the afternoon. We dreaded returning the following morning, hoping that everyone remembered as little as possible. You did a good job Graham.
Expression is praiseworthy. Celebration is a convenient custom practised by people to rejoice under the cover of religion.
