His full name was Von Clyburn Duke of Fairfield but most knew him only by his nick name, Clyde. He was bitten by a poisonous snake and blew up like a balloon but he survived. He suffered three hundred stitches from a fight with an opponent twice his size but he survived. He was shot and the bullet went clean through him but he survived. He was the father of four but he survived. He was a friend to everyone he met as people sincerely enjoyed his company. Clyde is no longer with us but the memories of him have survived.
I like it. It has a very nice symmetry.
Thanks for reading my story–Jim
Poor guy. All that survival but in the end, it’s the memories that sustain us. Great story.
I hope I don’t disappoint but Clyde was based on true facts–He was a red long haired weenie dog and one of the best friends I ever had–He lived to a ripe old age of 18( that is 126 in dog years) where he finally just gave out. This was in the 70s& 80s before there were any leash laws and Clyde roamed the neighborhood as all my neighbors enjoyed his visits and helped me to spoil him rotten. thanks for your comments-Jim Freeze
