She was born one freezing night, so her soul was cold. Every school has one like her. She would smirk, sharpen her tongue, then gut me with the vilest insults.
I was hopeful when she disappeared…hopeful she was dead. When I learned that she’d been murdered, I celebrated silently. Other kids exaggerated how her death would impact their lives.
Bullshit.
So what if she was tortured? That didn’t erase her putrid existence. If anything, her violent death restored my faith in karma.
Knowing everyone would feel sorry for her now pissed me off…to the bottom of my ice-cold soul.
Hahaha…great finish. It wraps up the story quite nicely. This would make for an interesting novella because I find the main character quite compelling. Ice-cold souls are the best protagonists. They always end up being the most complex.
Interesting concept, and loved the title. Good stuff!
The story drew me in. I felt sad, unnerved, and cold hearted, because I laughed at the end.
