Bell tensed. His instinct for procrastination could never quell the qualm of an inflamed prostate. First thing in the morning, muscle spasms further complicated the art of extraction from the mattress. Just a matter of time before a wrong-way rollover crushed the angel of mercy on his shoulder.
Pauper pain. Nothing so glorious as an old gridiron injury sustained on a sudden death leap into the end zone to win the big game. The final impression as his temple crashed upon the carpet was that a fully equipped blue medical tent in the bedroom might not be such a bad idea.
Very descriptive of how old injuries reemerge as we age. The ending is great! The blue tent is a fitting end to the story.
Thank you, Bud, from me and my various aches and pains for your kind words!
