James anxiously glanced at his phone again.
Damn it, he thought.
The crappy Internet connection wouldn’t load his bank app to verify his paycheck. He hated this waiting game.
The store was coming up!
He felt encroached by the people on the cramped, grimy, and dimly lit train around him and he instantly felt annoyed.
Piece of shit!
No one was looking at him, but he felt judged from everyone around. His right leg shook inadvertently. Suddenly, he saw the full connection symbol on his phone. The screen showed he had enough money for the bills and the newest $749 iPhone.
A great reminder that the more that we don’t want the newest “toys”, the more we have to have them! Nice job.
