I feel the heat of the sand on my spine. I hear Bob Marley playing in the background, asking if I can be loved. I absolutely and definitely cannot be loved. Not now anyway. I don’t even need to be anymore. I shake my head to the beat of the heartwarming song and sip my chilled margarita, taking in the ocean breeze from the Atlantic. The sun and the ocean are like a drink, heating me up and chilling me down at the same time. Just like my cancer: showing me how to live and killing me at the same time.
This resonated with me as a cancer survivor. Well done and thank you.
Perfection!
I thought I knew where you were going until that last line. Wow!
