You believe in crossroads in life. Many of them pass by unnoticed. Some divert the entire course of your life. Her forested eyes flash behind the candle on the table.
You believe that habits snowball into destiny. Yet, habits can be cultivated or changed. Habits themselves are not destiny. You fidget with your ironed shirt collar.
You believe that reality exists between “all your dreams can come true” and “it was meant to be.” People who live in their heads can step out on occasion.
You walk over to her, standing next to the wedding cake.
“I don’t believe we’ve met.”
This is an intriguing story.
I found this quite intriguing and I wonder what happened to the ‘you’.
Interesting piece. I enjoyed it. And great last line.
The man, the woman, and ‘habits’ don’t quite add up to me. I need to know more about the main character and whether or not the woman is the bride or just some bystander standing by the cake. Why would he introduce himself to the bride, if she is the bride? I assume it’s not his habit to introduce himself to strangers is the theme, but who are they? Is he the groom? Are they just two people who attended the wedding? I need more.
Made the romantic in me smile and sigh a little. Well done!
