By Scott MacAulay
He names his darkness Priscilla: sexy, mischievous, a hint of danger. Priscilla does not announce herself with a BOO! Or shriek from the attic for attention. Or step on loose floor boards late at night. She is a fast falling shadow enveloping him then sitting in his lap, her arms around his neck.
They watch television, flipping through the channels every twenty minutes because nothing is interesting. Priscilla puts her finger in his glass of rum, twirls the ice because he likes the sound of pebbles in receding waves. Seduction. The comfort of hell before the devil turns the burners up.
nicely done – glad Priscilla didn’t turn out to be the expected female
Pleasantly scary…and seductive. A winner.
