The princess blinks. Her eyes are teary.
He wishes he had not said cosplay conventions were an interest as well when they connected online.
A lie that crumbled as soon as they arrived.
She blows her nose with the sleeve of her flowing gown, asks, “What else is not true?”
He thinks back to his profile: ‘Booklover, Vegetarian, Piscean, 45 to 55.’
Wonders if it would have been better to simply put: ‘Tired of being alone.’
Because finding love has never seemed so far, far away.
