Leonard sighed heavily and nodded after checking once again to calm his wife.
Rose softly exhaled and sat beside her husband. She noticed the dark sky through the window and looked at the beautiful snowfall. It was Christmas, and they were waiting for a call from their son. She watched the other elderly couples in the communal living room talking with their children on devices.
It had been years since they’d last heard from Ryan.
