It was a bit of a surprise when the cat sprouted wings and flew out of the window.
He seemed as surprised as I was. Tried to lick them but couldn’t reach, so he did that thing cats do when they fall a bit weirdly or accidentally run into a fence. That sort of ‘yeah, I meant to do that’ look.
He gave them a shake, then two flaps, and he was away.
I ran to the window, and there he was. A speck between tower blocks, getting smaller.
I wasn’t worried.
I knew he’d come back when he was hungry.
This intrigued me from the start and charmed me all the way to the end! What imagination! The ending was a cherry!
