The sign on the canyon rim reads, SPEAK TO HEAR YOUR ECHO.
“Am I really here?” I shout into the emptiness.
Here the echo faintly replies.
“Am I there or here?”
Here
“Then who is standing on this edge asking these questions? You or me?”
Me
“So, I’m nothing more than an echo?”
Echo
“You’re sure?”
Sure
“Echo?”
Echo
“What if I lose my voice? What if, when I’m too old, I open my mouth to declare that I am here and nothing comes out? What am I then? Nothing?”
I step closer to the edge and wait for my echo.
Creepy, and it leaves me wondering what happened. Great job!
This is THE Question. Wow!
