Endangered Species

Endangered Species

By Eric S. Fomley

When the Jixt arrived above Earth’s skies, first contact celebrations with the friendly alien race were cut short when the Jixt warned of the Xir threat.

For months, the Jixt helped us improve our technology and weapons, preparing humanity for the fight against extinction.

The Xir came, and we defeated them. At great cost. But humanity was so eager to befriend the Jixt, the first alien race mankind encountered, that we bought their lie.

The Xir came to save us from the Jixt, and we murdered them.

Humans were massacred. The survivors were scattered throughout the galaxy, living as endangered vagabonds.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.

Good sf story, but deserves a much longer version. Classic sf theme.
