After heart surgery, John opened his eyes.
“There’s no pain.”
“Not anymore,” said Angelina. She was wearing a maid’s uniform. “Would you like something you couldn’t have before?”
“Bar-be-cue ribs and a beer?”
Angelina sashayed away and then returned with a tray.
“There’s no knife and fork.”
“No problem. Lie back and I’ll feed you.”
“Before surgery, I couldn’t even get out of bed. I’d like to get up. Dance.”
“You can’t, but I’ll take care of everything.”
“Well, if I have to lie here perpetually, I might as well be in hell.”
“Excuse me… Where do you think you are?”
Mel, that was a funny take on an old line, made me laugh!
LOL I loved it!! Got me
Good stuff!
Very clever indeed. Yes, I love it.
Very good–enjoyed this one a lot.
Should have seen that one coming–but didn’t. It’s always a good story when you successfully pull off a twist ending.
