It hurts. Biological demands scream at him, “Confide in someone!”
Fear of laughter, accusations of insanity, or outright dismissal, linger.
They all want to know what’s up. It’s really none of their business, no matter how much he wishes it. They are intruders. As he will never fit in this world, they will never fit in his.
This invention he safeguards exists only on paper. So here he sits. Alone to daydream about the people he’ll never befriend, places he’ll never explore.
Truly, it aches.
Yet with gleeful abandon, he continues to torment himself with imaginary paradise. Will he never learn?
